Strong Cap LLC manufactures the Strong Cap, a 3-in-1 kit designed to provide long-term protection against corrosion and disconnection of ground rod connections.

The Strong Cap kit can be installed on anything that requires a ground rod connection. This includes but is not limited to:

The Strong Cap:
- does not change the function of the ground rod
- is maintenance-free corrosion protection
- maintains the integrity of the ground rod connection
- vessel is UV resistant
- can be buried below ground level
- can be submerged in water
- can accommodate different sized ground rods
Is repairing faulty grounding a green venture?
Yes, repairing faulty grounding is a green venture. Grounding is essential to the safe operation of electrical equipment, and defective grounding can cause major safety hazards and lead to costly equipment damage. Repairing this faulty grounding reduces the risk of potential electrical fires and can save energy by reducing the amount of electricity lost in the system. TESTING AND APPROVAL
UL Listing
The Strong Cap kit has been tested by UL and is a listed product for Grounding & Bonding Equipment. It complies with UL 467 and is rated for direct burial. The UL File Number is E363276.
USDA Approved
The Strong Cap was submitted to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for consideration for the “Technical Standards List” of approved equipment. After reviewing the product information and installation video, the Committee engineers rated it as “a very good product.” Although the “Technical Standards List” has no category for an item like the Strong Cap, the committee chair and engineers stated that the USDA would support requests from co-ops who want to purchase the 3-in-1 kit as maintenance items and for new construction.
NEC Code
Strong Cap LLC is currently working to change the requirement through the National Electrical Code (NEC) to protect ground rod connections.
