TECHNICAL SPECS

The patented Strong Cap assembly, the 3-in-1 kit, includes the Strong Cap shell, SP58 stainless steel ground rod clamp and SC-6 silicone. The UL listing and USDA approval is based on the complete 3-in-1 assembly. Any application must include all components assembled and installed, per detailed instructions included in the kit.

SC-6 SILICONE

Because no corrosive by-products are involved, SC-6 may be applied to horizontal, vertical and overhead surfaces without sagging. SC-6 adheres without a primer to many clean substrates such as aluminum, steel, glass, wood, silicone rubber, and has excellent adhesion to many plastics. SC-6 features resistance to heat, cold, water, ozone, and ultraviolet rays. It remains flexible and does not crack or harden.

SC-6 contains no solvents. It has negligible shrinkage during cure; SC-6 is useful over a temperature range of – 75°F to 450°F for extended operation and for intermittent periods up to 500°F.

Meets specifications: ASTM C920 Type S, NS, Class 50, TT-S-00230C, TT-S-01543A, MIL-A-46106A, AAMA 808.3, 805.2, 803.3 (Type I), 802.3 (Type II); UL recognized component.

SP58 STAINLESS STEEL GROUND ROD CLAMP

This versatile clamp is designed for many assembly combinations: #10 solid through #2 stranded (6 mm²- 25 mm²) conductor to ½” thru 5/8” (12.7 mm – 16 mm) ground rods, or a #4 (10 mm) rebar and other solid 5/8” (16 mm) metal rods that can be used as grounding electrodes. The stainless steel ground rod clamp is compatible with many types of ground rods and electrodes, including but not limited to copper, copper-bonded, galvanized, stainless steel, rebar and plain steel rod. The patent-pending, UL® Listed SP58 clamp is more resistant to corrosion than a bronze acorn clamp and is approved for direct burial.
